Gold is used for purchase mediocre class items (like equipment, potions, etc), to train abilities or evolve Monsters.
Gems (aka Taming Gems) are specifically for taming monsters and have no other usage. There are different Taming Gems but the commonly used one is the "normal Taming Gem".

Cannot tame Monsters on Hard or Heroic - Bug?[]
This is not a bug. Monsters can only be tamed with normal Taming Gems on normal Mode. The only possibility to tame Monsters on another mode is with Master Gems which cost a huge amount of Diamonds. All Monsters seen on Hard or Heroic Mode are the 2nd or 3rd stage of Normal Stage 1 Monsters.
How to unlock Hard or Heroic Mode?[]
To unlock a mode all quests (capturing and defeating) of the previous mode have to be solved.
When is the next Island coming?[]

We want Trainers to experience a lot that Mighty Monsters already has to offer. The vast majority of Trainers still haven't seen our newest Island, and many haven't even attempted Jumbled Jungle. Fossiles are Items that result in an epic Fossil Monster as soon as they are combined.

Why can't my Fossil Monster evolve?[]
Fossil Monsters only have one evolution, are from epic rarity and begin at level 14.
Are Fossil Monsters special in any kind?[]
No Fossil Monsters are the same as any other Monster. No special moves or anything.
How many Fossil Monsters are there?[]

Why don't Fossil Monsters count?[]
Nobody exactly knows why the Fossil Monsters don't show up in the listing of tamed Monsters. Some assume that they are meant to be a surprise. So you won't know how a Fossil Monster looks until you have assembled it.
